The Biosensis Oligomeric Alpha Synuclein RapidTM enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Kit is a sandwich ELISA that allows the quantification of Alpha Synuclein Oligomers in less than 4 hours in human serum, plasma (EDTA) and rat brain only if used as directed, with a simplified protocol and no loss of sensitivity or specificity. Please refer to the kit protocol for specific use instructions for each substrate application, in particular blood samples and rat brain.
This ELISA kit consists of a pre-coated anti-oligomeric α-synuclein capture antibody, a biotinylated anti-oligomeric α-synuclein detection antibody and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated streptavidin. The addition of a substrate (3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine, TMB) yields a coloured reaction product which is directly proportional to the concentration of α-synuclein oligomers present in samples and protein standards. An α-synuclein oligomer positive control (QC sample) is provided to assure consistent assay performance.
This Oligomeric Alpha Synuclein ELISA kit employs a oligomeric alpha synuclein standard made and stabilized according to Almandoz-Gil et al 2018. This ELISA shows only minimal cross-reactivity with the monomeric form of α-synuclein and beta and gamma synuclein .
